Drive to Mandawa. Rest of the day visit the Shekhavati villages of Dundlod, Mandawa, etc. Mandawa was founded in 1755 by Thakur Nawal Singh and is still the home of his descendants. Mandawa houses , a collection of armories, costumes of ancestors, canons from 1820, ancient coins, numismatic collection and many other interesting items preserved in a museum. The whole area of Shekhawati has beautiful frescoes, havelis & mansions and is called the open air gallery.
Drive to Agra , visiting Fatehpur Sikri enroute. Fatehpur Sikri is 40 kms from Agra and built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal and other Palaces.
This is a beautiful house built in 22 acres of rich farmland in the style of Edwin Lutyens, who designed most of the parliament buildings in New Delhi. The house is owned by Martin and Annie Howard who would be your hosts. Your stay there would include all your meals and drinks from your arrival until your departure.
In the morning head on guided tour of Khajuraho. You visit the temples in Khajuraho, which are popular for their erotic sculptures. The temples were built by Chandela rulers between 950 and 1050 AD. In the afternoon transfer to airport to catch a flight to Varanasi. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Relax in your room. In the evening, head to Buddhist city of Sarnath for a short trip. It is the place where Buddha gave his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. Later drive back to Varanasi. Overnight stay in the hotel.
